SCI Solutions, National Park Medical Center Team to Provide Web-based Scheduling Solution to Physicians to Streamline Patient Access

Los Gatos, Calif. and Hot Springs, Ark. – June 21, 2004 – SCI Solutions, the leading application service provider (ASP) for enterprise-class access management solutions, today announced it has entered into a contract with National Park Medical Center (NPMC), a leading Triad Hospital Inc., healthcare facility. SCI Solutions will provide its revolutionary appointment/registration solutions to the NPMC network of physicians to improve communication among hospital departments and enable real time scheduling of patient appointments.

Additionally, NPMC will be the first in the state of Arkansas to provide a web-based physician portal. The SCI Solutions Provider Portal will streamline National Park Medical Center's operation and enable its networked physicians to schedule visits at its facility via the Internet, significantly improving efficiency while reducing patient processing time.

"We have discussed the need to improve scheduling processes with many members of our medical staff, identifying complications and time-consuming components of current hospital registration systems," says Jerry Mabry, CEO. "Now, NPMC will be automating this process, freeing our medical staff to redirect attention to providing quality patient care. The scisolutions.com application will provide quicker access to the availability of schedules and a strong dose of convenience by streamlining the online appointment scheduling and the registration processing of our physicians and their patients."

In lieu of making time consuming calls to the scheduling office to coordinate care, physicians are empowered to request or book appointments into the hospital online, via the Internet, at their convenience. The process also enables the provider to print patient itineraries and preparatory instructions directly from their office, to insure that the patient is prepared for treatment the day of arrival, all of which can be made available to the patient prior to leaving the physician's office.

"We are excited about the convenience the SCI registration system will provide our patients, our physicians and their office staff," says Mabry. "The Provider Portal will be a tremendous asset in alleviating the traffic in our own ancillary departments, as well as providing physicians and their staff more time to focus on delivering quality care, instead of the logistics required to coordinate it."

"The prospect of incorporating our innovative Provider Portal into the existing infrastructure at National Park Medical Center is very exciting to SCI Solutions," said John Holton, CEO. "We are pleased with the opportunity to provide our unique Access Management approach to help facilitate and expedite the delivery of care at National Park Medical Center."

SCI Solutions uses the Internet to provide its ASP business model to deliver real time registration and scheduling services to hospitals, clinics, providers, and consumers. The technology also enables providers to schedule patient appointments, check their insurance eligibility, verify referrals and procedure authorizations, as well as determine medical necessity-- all online.
