Los Gatos, Calif. – August 7, 2006 – SCI Solutions, the fastest growing Access Management solution provider for healthcare, today announced it has signed three new, large-scale customers for its Schedule Maximizer (formerly known as scisolutions.com) and Order Facilitator (formerly known as efileshare.com) products. Schedule Maximizer is SCI's award-winning, Internet-based, pre-registration, scheduling and front-end revenue cycle solution for hospitals and healthcare systems of all sizes. Order Facilitator is SCI's premier healthcare web solution for automating outpatient orders for hospital services from community physicians.
National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center, a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and primary Federal agency for conducting and supporting medical research located in Bethesda, Maryland went live with Schedule Maximizer on December 5, 2005, just four months from the contract signing. In addition to Scheduling, NIH's implementation included Appointment Reminders, Provider Portal (pilot), bi-directional interface with their Medical Information System, as well as a scheduling interface on booking and check-in. The scope of the implementation encompassed fifteen clinic locations; one hundred forty-seven different clinics; twelve inpatient units; three Day Hospitals; Imaging Services; four Diagnostic and Procedure areas; one hundred seventy-five Schedulers; and eight hundred ninety-five casual users. This statement does not reflect endorsement or imply endorsement of SCI, its products or services, by the Clinical Center or NIH.
Eisenhower Medical Center, a 253-bed acute care hospital facility located in Rancho Mirage, CA and its companion Radiology facility, Eisenhower Imaging Center went live with the SCI Order Facilitator on April 28, 2006 in several pilot practices and plans to roll out the product to its entire Physician Community to accommodate all orders submitted to the Medical Center and their affiliates.
According to Mark Gaulding, Director Revenue Control and Audit "Eisenhower purchased Order Facilitator to overcome the volume of lost and illegible orders in our Lab environment and for the ability to customize the procedure lists in our system (by modality and according to CPT Codes) to meet our imaging center's specific needs." He added, "We are looking forward to seeing immediate results and an improved workflow in the coming weeks."
"Order Facilitator has been a wonderful tool to help us to expedite scheduling. The majority of our patients are same-day or next-day appointments and it makes getting the patients scheduled much easier," says Jill Hunerberg, Executive Director, Eisenhower Imaging Center. "Our Scheduling staff loves it because they don't have to make unnecessary phone calls to the physicians' offices to decipher orders."
Additionally, Eisenhower plans to incorporate SCI's Fax Server solution to insure that 100 percent of its incoming orders can be managed entirely with the Order Facilitator.
WakeMed Health & Hospitals, a 752-bed private, not-for-profit health care system based in Raleigh, North Carolina initially went live on SCI's Schedule Maximizer in the Rehabilitation Hospital and Outpatient Centers in 2001. Currently they are using Schedule Maximizer (with Medical Necessity and Eligibility modules, along with a two-way interface and account management) to Radiology, Cardiology, Neurodiagnostics and other departments across their two acute care hospitals and expanding number of outpatient centers.
According to Denton Arledge, Vice President and Chief Information Officer at WakeMed, "As we sought to improve our enterprise-wide scheduling processes, we found the ideal solution already being utilized in our Rehabilitation department." Arledge continued, "Rehab had been very successful using SCI's Schedule Maximizer solution across their seven outpatient locations for more than three years and we knew the SCI solution would handle Radiology and other scheduling just as well." He added, "We are also deploying the Provider Portal for physician office self-scheduling. Our future plans may include using the Consumer Portal for patient self-scheduling and online pre-registration." Arledge concluded, "SCI's tool has helped WakeMed improve its internal scheduling processes and the product allows us to offer the easiest access for physicians and patients in our market service area."
John Holton, CEO, SCI Solutions commented, "We are pleased with the opportunity to provide our advanced Access Management solutions to help these leading health systems to streamline their administrative processes, improve their customers' satisfaction with their services and to expedite access to patient care delivery in their respective communities."
