Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center Automates and Outsources Scheduling with SCI Solutions

Access Management Vendor Achieves Rapid Implementation Record

Los Gatos, Calif. – May 16, 2007 – SCI Solutions, the premiere Access Management solution provider for healthcare, today announced it has partnered with Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center to provide advanced enterprise scheduling to the Brooklyn, New York area, servicing numerous medical clinics across five separate locations. Schedule Maximizer is SCI's intelligent scheduling application that streamlines Access, maximizes scarce resources, performs advanced pre-registration and enables web self-scheduling.

In March 2006, Kingsbrook, an 864-bed medical training institution comprised of a 326-bed acute care hospital and a 538-bed adult and pediatric skilled nursing long-term care facility, went live with SCI Solution's core Schedule Maximizer product. The go-live included the following: Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center with 33 medical clinics, Crown Heights Family Health Center with seven medical clinics and five other community locations.

According to Nympha Meindel, CIO, Kingsbrook, "We were extremely pleased with SCI's rapid installation process." She continued, "Schedule Maximizer was live five weeks after the project kick-off due to the use of SCI's iWizard technology for database building, the focused attention of SCI and Kingsbrook staff and the application's ASP delivery."

After the successful system implementation, Kingbrook outsourced call-handling for its clinics to American Medical Alert Corporation (AMAC), based in Long Island City, NY. AMAC takes calls and schedules appointments for patients directly into Schedule Maximizer on Kingsbrook's behalf. The advanced Schedule Maximizer rules engine minimizes training for new users and ensures that AMAC agents never book an appointment in error.

In late May 2007, Kingsbrook will be expanding the use of Schedule Maximizer to its Radiology department and will also be implementing SCI's Eligibility module for automated checking of eligibility and benefits verification. In addition to improving the quality and efficiency of Radiology scheduling, this implementation will also feed appointment data to Stockamp's pre-encounter financial verification tool.

"Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center is committed to exceeding the healthcare Access needs of our clinics and our customers," stated Deborah Mabry, Assistant Vice President for Ambulatory Care Services. She added, "We chose SCI Solutions because of their proven track record in improving their customers registration, scheduling and physician ordering/referral processes to make hospitals more physician/patient-friendly and efficient."

John Holton, CEO, SCI Solutions commented, "We are pleased with the opportunity to provide our advanced Access Management solutions to help Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center to streamline their administrative processes, improve their customers' satisfaction with their services and to expedite access to patient care delivery." He added, "SCI now has five Schedule Maximizer customers in the New York City area."
